Can I search for items at other universities?
Your Hazaar is linked to your university email, so your Hazaar only shows sellers from your university, or universities in the same city (e.g Leeds University and Leeds Beckett University).
How do I receive what I have bought?
You will need to meet with the seller to collect your item.
Follow these steps to have a hassle-free experience:
Message the seller once you have purchased their item
Arrange a suitable time and place to meet (this must be in a public place and in daylight)
When you meet, have your QR code ready so the seller can scan it
Once the seller has received your payment, they will hand the item over to you
What do I do if the seller doesn’t turn up?
Contact the seller and see if you can arrange another time to meet, they might be busy or may have forgotten. However, if the seller is continually uncooperative, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or DM us on Instagram @justhazaar and we will do our best to resolve the issue.
Can I still use Hazaar when I’m not at university?
As your Hazaar is linked to your university email, you will still be able to use the app and see buyers and sellers in your city. When coordinating a meet-up, please be mindful that people may be away from university, especially outside of term time.
What if I no longer want the item?
If you want to receive a full refund, you must give the seller 24 hours notice before the time you agreed to meet. However, once the QR code is scanned it is not possible for you to receive a refund.
When am I eligible for a refund?
You are eligible for a refund up to 24 hours before you are due to meet the seller. Beyond this point, the seller is no longer obligated to give you a refund. However, once the QR code is scanned it is not possible for you to receive a refund.
What if the QR code doesn’t work?
Here are a few troubleshooting tips you can try:
Check you have a strong internet connection and good signal strength
Refresh the app and re-open the QR codes tab
What if I want to choose a new time or place?
Please message the seller at least 12 hours prior to your arranged meet time if you need to reschedule. If you do not give the seller enough notice, you may not be eligible for a refund on your purchase.
What happens if the item is not what I expected?
Before letting the seller scan your QR code, check that the item is what you expected. Once the exchange is complete, you are not eligible for a refund.
How do I return an item?
Unfortunately, once you have made an exchange, you are not eligible to return your purchase. We recommend reaching out to the seller to see if they are willing to receive your return, or list it back onto Hazaar for someone else to buy!
Why haven’t I received my order?
Instead of posting items, we encourage buyers and sellers to meet in person to help minimise waste and CO2 emissions. You can read more about the buying and selling process on our home page.
