Meet Hazaar: The UK’s very first zero-waste student marketplace

We are revolutionising the way students and universities approach sustainability. Made for students, by students.

We collaborate closely with universities to change consumption behaviours and prevent valuable items from going to waste.

Our app creates university-specific marketplaces without the need for postage, facilitating affordable, sustainable solutions and supporting student entrepreneurs. Students are at the heart of what we do, and our Head of Hazaar Programme empowers students and ambassadors to drive change.

Offer to Universities

1. Hazaar Marketplace App

Gain access to the Hazaar marketplace app to buy and sell second-hand items sustainably. No carbon emissions, no single-use plastics, just Hazaar.

2. Hazaar Drop-off Points

Drop-off points are Hazaars solution to reducing the waste students leave behind at the end of the academic year. Items are re-homed for incoming students or donated to your local charities to support the community.

3. Pop-up Markets

Hazaar pop-up markets bring sustainable shopping to the centre of campus, giving students a platform to start or grow their own business. Organised by the Hazaar team, students are paid to executive the events.

4. Carbon Reporting

In collaboration with the University of Birmingham, Hazaar has built a revolutionary carbon reporting model. Providing carbon saving data for each individual marketplace.
