What if the QR code doesn’t work?

Here are a few troubleshooting tips you can try:

  • Check you have a strong internet connection and good signal strength
  • Both the seller and the buyer should refresh the app (close the app completely, also in the background) and re-open the app and start over, try scanning the QR code again

If you are still having issues, please contact hello@justhazaar.com or DM us on Instagram and we will do our best to resolve the issue.

Can I search for items at other universities?

Your Hazaar is linked to your university email, so your Hazaar only shows sellers from your university, or universities in the same city (e.g Leeds University and Leeds Beckett University).

How do I receive what I have bought?

You will need to meet with the seller to collect your item. Follow these steps to have a hassle-free experience:

  • Message the seller once you have purchased their item
  • Arrange a suitable time and place to meet (this should be in a public place and in daylight, refer to the safe spaces highlighted in the Hazaar app, which are great spaces to meet at your university)
  • When you meet, you will scan a QR code from the seller's phone, this releases your payment to the seller
  • Once the code has been scanned, the seller will hand the item over to you

What do I do if the seller doesn’t turn up?

Contact the seller and see if you can arrange another time to meet, they might be busy or may have forgotten.

However, if the seller is continually uncooperative, please contact hello@justhazaar.com or DM us on Instagram and we will do our best to resolve the issue.

Can I still use Hazaar when I’m not at university?

As your Hazaar is linked to your university email, you will still be able to use the app and see buyers and sellers in your city. When coordinating a meet-up, please be mindful that people may be away from university, especially outside of term time.

What if I no longer want the item?

If you want to receive a full refund, you must give the seller 24 hours notice before the time you agreed to meet.

You can cancel the purchase from the app before meeting.

However, once the QR code is scanned it is not possible for you to receive a refund.

When am I eligible for a refund?

Check the app's terms and conditions to understand how disputes are resolved.

What if I want to choose a new time or place?

Please message the seller at least 12 hours prior to your arranged meet time if you need to reschedule.

What happens if the item is not what I expected?

Before scanning the  QR code from the seller, check that the item is what you expected. Once the exchange is complete, you are not eligible for a refund. Please check the app's terms and conditions.

If you have had a negative experience buying with Hazaar, please contact hello@justhazaar.com or DM us on Instagram.

How do I return an item?

Unfortunately, once you have made an exchange, you are not eligible to return your purchase. Check the app's terms and conditions.

We recommend reaching out to the seller to see if they are willing to receive your return, or list it back onto Hazaar for someone else to buy!

Why haven’t I received my order?

Instead of posting items, we encourage buyers and sellers to meet in person to help minimise waste and CO2 emissions.
