Sustainability
At Hazaar, we are committed to promoting sustainability in every aspect of our business.

Sustainability Statement

Our strategy to achieve this includes the following key points:

  1. Minimising waste: We evaluate our operations to ensure they are as efficient as possible and minimise waste wherever possible. This includes reducing paper use, minimising energy consumption, and optimizing our logistics to reduce emissions.

  2. Zero postage marketplace: Hazaar is a completely no postage marketplace, which means that our marketplace app is carbon negative. This helps us to minimise our environmental impact and promote sustainable practices in the industry.

  3. Promoting recycling: We actively promote recycling both internally and among our customers and suppliers. We encourage the use of sustainable packaging materials and work to ensure that all waste is disposed of responsibly.

  4. Working with sustainable businesses: We work with businesses that adhere to our sustainability policy, purposely avoiding working with fast fashion brands that contribute to the industry's negative impact on the environment.

  5. Measuring our impact: We measure our impact on the environment and set targets for ongoing improvement. This helps us to identify areas where we can reduce our environmental footprint and improve our sustainability practices.

  6. Compliance with environmental legislation: We promote sustainable practices within the industry and we are committed to meet our legal environmental requirements.

  7. Staff training: We implement a training program for our staff to raise awareness of environmental issues and enlist their support in improving the Company's performance. This helps us to ensure that sustainability is a core value throughout our organisation.

  8. Regular assessment: We regularly assess our performance and look for new ways to improve our operations. We believe that sustainability is an ongoing process, and we are committed to continually improving our practices to promote a more sustainable future for all.

At Hazaar, we believe that sustainability is not just a buzzword but a crucial aspect of our business. By implementing these strategies and adhering to our sustainability policy, we are committed to promoting sustainable practices and making a positive impact on the environment.

Criteria for fashion brands that

Hazaar works with

In order for Hazaar to work with brands, they must adhere to a set of sustainability criteria that aligns with our values and goals for a sustainable future. These criteria include:

  1. Decreasing unsustainable rapid fashion consumption: The brand must demonstrate that they are actively working to decrease unsustainable fashion consumption by hosting events and campaigns that promote repairing and re-wearing, reducing textile waste, encouraging people to reduce the amount of clothes they buy, and discouraging people from sending clothes to landfill.

  2. Supply chain transparency: The brand must have transparency in their supply chain, or be actively working towards achieving transparency. This means disclosing the names and locations of their suppliers and subcontractors, as well as the materials and processes used to manufacture their products.

  3. Fair labour practices: The brand must ensure that their workers are paid at least a living wage, or actively working to achieve this. This means providing safe working conditions, fair hours, and appropriate compensation for all workers in their supply chain.

  4. Environmental impact: The brand must be actively working to reduce their impact on the planet by setting targets for emissions, pollution (including water pollution), and waste reduction. This includes using sustainable materials and processes to minimize their environmental footprint and increasing their use of natural and recycled materials to replace primary plastics.

  5. Modern slavery: The brand must be active against modern slavery in their supply chain, and take steps to ensure that their products are not made using forced or child labor.

By adhering to these sustainability criteria, brands can work with Hazaar to promote sustainable and ethical practices in the fashion industry, and contribute to a more sustainable future for all.
